The programme is intended for foreign nationals living anywhere in Poland. The training sessions will be organised by the Emic Foundation, VELA Foundation Poland and the Workers’ Initiative Trade Union.

The Labour Law Academy will comprise 15 online training sessions covering topics including:

• labour law,
• the most common examples of violations and circumvention of labour law in employment contracts and civil-law contracts,
• the tax system and social security contributions (ZUS),
• forms of association and the protection of employee rights through trade union activity.

Webinars will be held weekly from September to December 2026. Participation in the course is completely FREE OF CHARGE.

The first two training sessions in the programme:

1. 2 September 2026, Wednesday, 17:00–20:00: “Basic legal acts governing employment and labour law in Poland”. An overview of the provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland, the Civil Code and statutes governing individual areas of employment.
2. 9 September 2026, Wednesday, 17:00–20:00: “Types of employment contracts and civil-law contracts in Poland. The Labour Code and regulations governing individual types of civil-law contracts”. A detailed discussion of issues including leave, the calculation of working time (including overtime), and the regulations governing contracts of mandate and contracts for specific work.

Programme participants will also be able to access individual support provided in person and remotely (by e-mail, telephone and messaging apps such as WhatsApp):

• consultations on administrative and employment matters and access to public services;
• legal counselling;
• career counselling.

The Labour Law Academy programme is delivered as part of the project “Competences Without Borders – a labour market activation and social integration programme for foreign nationals”, funded by the Labour Fund under the Ministerial Activation Programme for Foreign Nationals for 2026.
